In the morning of early 2026, officers with the OPP were looking for a SUV involved in several collisions in the Rockland area. The vehicle was being operated in a reckless manner and had significant damage to the front passenger side. An officer spotted the SUV and performed a U-turn to follow it, activating emergency lights and siren. The SUV pulled over and stopped, and the officer approached the driver, who was alone in the vehicle. The driver was told they were being detained for a "hit and run" and refused to exit the vehicle, leading to a physical altercation with the officer. Another officer arrived on scene and assisted in subduing the driver, throwing punches in the direction of their head. The driver was arrested, handcuffed, and later diagnosed with a fractured right orbital bone at a hospital.
