A young boy died from injuries sustained in a collision in the Laurentides region. The vehicle he was in was struck by a truck whose driver was distracted by their cellphone. The coroner's office made recommendations to the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec to develop new awareness and education activities on the dangers of distracted driving and to integrate a message on the importance of safely immobilizing vehicles in emergency situations on highways.
