Redacted summary

The Commission's Final Report regarding a shooting incident in Buick Creek, B.C. involved a complaint filed by the Chair of the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. On September 26, 2009, the Fort St. John RCMP received a report about an incident involving a person and their family. It was reported that the person shot out the tires of a vehicle containing their family members, who were on their way to attend a wedding. The family was able to proceed to a nearby residence, but the person followed them and shot out the remaining tires. The person eventually returned to their residence after several failed attempts to speak with their family. The family travelled on to the wedding and remained out of town until the matter could be resolved, on the advice of the RCMP. Attempts were made by members of the Fort St. John Detachment to speak with the person, but they were not cooperative. The RCMP North District Emergency Response Team (NDERT) was ultimately activated.
